Switzerland – Engadin – Lago di Saoseo – Cat Ice Time

Lago_di_Saoseo_A_8069-Gerry_PacherWe got some snow in the mountains this week and I guess it was the last opportunity this year, to photograph some nice reflections at Lago di Saoseo. As soon as the sun goes down the temperature is way below freezing level and you can watch how quickly the lake gets covered with cat ice. So, it's cat time ...

Switzerland – Saentis – Full Moon Night – 20:13

Saentis_A0002824-Gerry_Pacher-v2Same day, just a couple of hours later and another mountain. This was indeed an easy undertaking. The Saentis is just an one hour drive away and the cable car brings you to the top of the mountain. Well, the sunset wasn't so wonderful because of heavy fog/clouds but to my luck the other side offered some interesting opportunities - photographing the full moon.

Enjoy the view.

Gerry

Kauai – Hanalei Sunset Pier

Hawaii_P8_4146-Gerry_PacherThe sun was behind a "fat" dark cloud and I was a little bit disappointed about this lost opportunity ... but hope dies last and I got rewarded by a purple mood.

Enjoy the purple mood.

Hawaii – Kauai – Waimea Recreation Pier

Hawaii_P8_5660-Gerry_Pacher-V2
After spending a whole day at Polihale Beach (with huge waves) I stopped by at the Waimea Recreation Pier and photographed this scenery. Normally, the pier fishers are very busy to that time because this place is well known for pole fishing and crabbing. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the warm evening sun and I was ready for dinner.

Hawaii – Kauai – Hanalei Sunset Pier

Hawaii_P8_4954-Gerry_Pacher
Hi folks
I want to let everyone know that I'm back from my vacation now. Kauai is really a special exotic destination. Yes, traveling from Europe to Hawaii isn't a short weekend trip but it's really worth. Once you are there you will be rewarded with wonderful impressions which are really unique. So, the pleasant part, having the pleasure and making photographs is over and now starts the real work - post-processing. So, let's start with a first sunset shot "Hanalei Sunset Pier" which I took in Hanalei. The luck was a little bit on my side because the moon was rising to the same time.

Enjoy the sunset.

Gerry

France – Bretagne – Floating Thoughts

Bretagne_P8_2423-Gerry_Pacher

I was waiting for a gorgeous sunset .... but it shouldn't be the case. The sun was setting down without any spectacular colors .... and my thoughts floated away...... to Heli.

Suddenly, back to reality, I saw this rock in a perfect back light position.... and I had the pleasure to push the shutter for about 124 seconds.

Regards,

Gerry
