Switzerland – Winter is approaching @ Spluegen Pass
This little lake was on my to-do list since nearly two years but I had to cancel all the various undertakings due to bad weather conditions. And this time - this was my hope - should be the right moment to visit this place because the weather should clear up after the first winter storm. Well, this was the trend of the weather forecast and my wish ....... Hhhhm - maybe I was to late or maybe to early. Yes, the snowfall stopped for a while but the strong cold wind wasn't definitely on my wish list

Switzerland – Uri – Goescheneralpsee – Overnight Lull – color version
Well, I posted this scenery already (Overnight Lull black&white) but I have thought that the colored version could be interesting as well. Ok - to be honest, there is not much color around but hey, all cats are grey (or even blue) at night
. So what do you think? Black & white or color ?

Switzerland – Furka – Windy Sunset
I headed towards Furka Pass after a fully packed business day and thought about a peaceful sunset at "my" reflection lake because we got some snow last night. Well, it was dammed cold and windy. No reflection at all ! But - as always - it is how it is and I mounted a ND filter and created a long exposure photograph.

Switzerland – Homeland – Sunset at Gauli #2
As already mentioned in my previous post (Sunset at Gauli #1) here is a second photograph of the same location at Gauli. Well, it's just a side note but the way to this location is a little bit strenuous. It's nearly a 2'000m altitude difference each way and as you can imagine, a medium format equipment isn't really a lightweight.... but I love the quality and it's finally worth each kilo. So, enjoy the last ray on sun.

Switzerland – Uri – Goescheneralpsee – Bergsee – Before Sunrise Scenery
Well, it was time for a visit of my nearby mountain lake at Goeschenen. It's called Bergsee and it's located above the Goescheneralpsee. To be honest, I (or my Mini JCW) love the winding drive up the mountain to the parking ground
But let's go back to photography. It was a very mild night and I expected some colors in the morning but I got disappointed this time. The air was to dry and that's why we got a dull sunrise. Anyway, it is how it is and I tried to get the best out of this moment. By the way, i photographed this scenery around 20min before sunrise.

Switzerland – Murgsee – Winter is still alive
A weather change brought us some fresh snow in the mountains and I guess we have to wait a couple of weeks for kicking-off the mountain lake season this year. Nevertheless, hiking up to the Murgsee (various small mountain lakes) and through fresh snow was ... despite the fact that I got a sunburn on my whole face and neck ...a wonderful and relaxing experience.

Switzerland – Engadin – Lago di Saoseo – Cat Ice Time
We got some snow in the mountains this week and I guess it was the last opportunity this year, to photograph some nice reflections at Lago di Saoseo. As soon as the sun goes down the temperature is way below freezing level and you can watch how quickly the lake gets covered with cat ice. So, it's cat time ...

The Faelensee, sometimes called "Alpstein-Fjord", is a lake in the Alpstein range of the canton Appenzell Innerrhoden and is embedded between the steep rock cliffs on both sides. I stayed over night at Boolenwees (a lovely mountain inn) and caught the first morning light.
Enjoy the beautiful reflection and the delicate morning light.

Switzerland – Etang de la Gruere
I visited the small lake "Etang de la Gruere" today that is located very close to Saignelegier, Canton of Jura / Switzerland. My Hassy did a superb job and captured the difference in brightness very well.

Switzerland – Saentis – Full Moon Night – 20:13
Same day, just a couple of hours later and another mountain. This was indeed an easy undertaking. The Saentis is just an one hour drive away and the cable car brings you to the top of the mountain. Well, the sunset wasn't so wonderful because of heavy fog/clouds but to my luck the other side offered some interesting opportunities - photographing the full moon.
Enjoy the view.
Regards,
Gerry
Switzerland – Grosser Mythen – 06:45am
Well, my initial plan was to photograph a sunset scenery from the top of the Grosser Mythen (check the link and you can see the mountain) but the weather was (let's put it that way) not so perfect. So I changed my plans and stayed over night at the top of the mountain. As you can imagine, the mountain cottage was still closed. It was quite windy and chilly but my sleeping bag did a fantastic job. And yes, the morning scenery was significantly better the evening.

Gerry

Switzerland – Seenalpersee – Melting Time !
Perfect weather conditions and my new Hassy were the reasons for this early spring hike to the lake "Seenalpersee". Well, the way up to the lake took longer than expected due to deep soft snow fields. Yes, I missed the sunrise but the scenery compensated for it. Despite the bright sun and the strong contrasts the medium format sensor did a fantastic job.
